MANAUS

 

 
Located in the north area of Brazil, on the left margin of Negro River, in the middle of the largest tropical forest of the planet. It has an extraordinary stock of natural resources, represented by 20% of the reservation of fresh water of the world, a genetic bank of unknown  value, minerals, gas and petroleum.

- Amazonas Theater:
One of. the main touristic points in Manaus, built in XIX century, symbol of the Rubber Cycle. All the richness and grandiosity of those times are still transmitted through its corridors, halls and art.

Inaugurated in 1906 and utilizing raw material from the England, was  the first buildings  to be built in Brazil with blocks in stone.

-The Science Grove (Bosque da Ciência): 
Located in the headquarters INPA(National institute for Amazon research), possess a  rich area in vegetation and animals from the Amazônia.

-Center Of Arts: 
In The past was a important sewers handling station,responsible by all the city.  Today, it represents an important space for presentations/expositions of art.


-Center Of White And Silva Workmanship:
Any product typical of the region, will be able to be found in this Center.It is possible accompany the output of pieces, as well as acquire any product.


-Cultural Palace  Black River(Rio Negro):
For many years, was headquarters of the State Government. At present is stage of expositions, musicals shows and theater.

Church Of Saint Sebastião:
Built in 1888, is part of the Saint Plaza Sebastião and of the Theater Amazonas.

Mercado Municipal "Adolfo Lisbon"(Municipal Market):                         
 
A replica of the market in Paris "Les Halles". Main door of entrance in the city from the rural and fishing output of the state.

Palace The Justice: 
Building where functions the Court from the Justice of the State, also built in neoclassic style, was inaugurated in 1900, and its architecture  remember the constructions of the 2º Brazilian Empire.


-Port Of Manaus:  
Projected and built by the english, is an interesting work of engineering, oscillating with the ascent and descended of the waters of black river.  Inaugurated in 1902.

-Zoological Of The CIGS Zoo (Jungle Warfare Instruction Center):Is the most greatest center of animals from the region amazônica. Amazon leopards, cougars, jaguars, Moorish cats, monkeys of several species, sucuris (anacondas), alligators, deer, macaws and gaviões reais (Amazon hawks) are some of the species found at the CIGS.

- Ponta Negra Cultural, Sport and Leisure Park:Besides beautiful landscape, framed by the white sand and lukewarm waters of the Ponta Negra beach (point youth of Manaus),The Park is provided with a 15 thousand capacity amphitheater, a bike lane, multi-use sports courts, and a complex of bars and snack stands spread along the entire area.

- Focagem do Jacaré
1 ½ - hour long night tour, where you will see all the mystery of one night at the jungle. Sailing through the Negro river, with flashlights, you can appreciate the fauna and some species of alligators to temporary capture for further devolution to the natural habitat.

- Fishing
Sailing through the rivers Negro, Solimões and Amazon, using simple equipment of fishing, and being able to capture the famous piranha and other typical fish of the region in a great adventure.

- Anavilhanas Archipelago
A speedboat ride until the Anavilhanas Archipelago, a preservation area. It has approximately 400 small islands. Visit to the most famous jungle hotel of the world, the "Ariaú amazon Tower" and a small Indian tribe

-Meeting of Waters
7-hour long boat tour, to watch the Porto Flutuante, regional houses and the Mercado Municipal, reaching the meeting of waters, where the rivers Negro and Solimões gathers their waters to form the Amazon river.

-Jungle Survival Tour
2-hour long tour, where you will have instruction on jungle survival: orientation by the Sun, construction of shelter, traps to catch small animals and how to obtain drinkable water and fire.
