Situated in the coastline of the Southwest from the Bahia, between salvador capital of the State, and vitoria, capital of the Holy Spirit(Espirito Santo). With 100 Km of beaches, Ilhéus has  the most beautiful coast of Brazil. Ilhéus belongs to coast of cocoa.

-Palace of the Paranaguá
Founded in 22 of December of 1907.Located in the plaza J J.  Seabra. Construction in neoclassic style  it is today headquarters of the Municipal city Hall of Ilhéus. 

 - Old Port

Municipal theater
Inaugurated in the year of 1932.  That Theater is located in the plaza Luiz Viana Son beside the Cathedral and of the Bar Vesúvio. It has capacity for 475 persons and an infrastructure of the most modern of the country.

Jorge Amado Culture House
Built in the beginning of the 20 decade, by the father of Jorge Amado. Today is a museum. It stay’s in the Street Jorge Amado, 21.

Vesúvio
Since to its creation, the Vesúvio went and continues being  one of the more frequented localities in the city.  The Vesúvio is installed in the Plaza D.  Eduardo, 190.

Stayed 18km south of Ilhéus, famous by have medicinal springs of waters, also offers beautiful beaches. In this local a water fall called Veil from the Fiancée becomes the very pretty landscape

North Beaches -
With around 50 Km, enough wild and pretty The sea is green, the sand is thin, there are coconut palms and Atlantic Forest.

a)São Miguel -  It stays in the confluence of Rio Almada.
b)Marciano - it Stays in front of the terminal of Petrobrás. It is not recommended for baths                                                                                    
c)Malhado(Dappled)
- it StaYS in front of the terminal from the Petrobrás. The sea covers barely all the streak of sand.  It is not good for bath.                      
d)Cristo(Christ) - Stays in an area where divides the sea from the Bay of the Pontal.                                                                                   
e)Concha(Seashell)
- Small, around 100 m. It is surrounded by coconut palms and native vegetation.

South  Beaches-
Straight line with reefs, strong waves and yellowish coarse sand. Has coconut . 
            

a)Millionaires-Relatively calms waters with golden and thin sand  has several cabins of beach that serve beverages and lunch.    
b)Cururupe-straight Line, with strong waves, sand beaten, clear and coarse.  The localities is a historical small farm: there, in 1559, a Brazilian village of Indians practically was exterminated by the Portuguese’s. 
c)Back Door-The first Beach in the District of Olivença. It is it preferred for the surfing, therefore is risky for baths.                                                                      
d)Batuba-As well As Back Door, has waves of  2,5 m. more shackles, reefs and many stones in the and.  
e)Milagres-Separate from the Batuba by reefs, has similar characteristics                                                                                   
f)Jairi-It stays next to confluence of the stream Jairi. Has small waves and golden sand.                                                                                                            
g)Canabrava-With small Waves, golden sand with little seashells. There are coconut palms.

Founded in 1982, to guard, preserve and divulge the memory of the regional communities, has like collection documentation, photographs, objects and plasterers artists works from the region.

Cathedral of Saint Sebatião

Museum Nossa Senhora da Piedade

Matrix  Church of Saint Jorge
Inaugurated in 1556, conserved its primitive style. Inside the church functions The Religious Museum of Art of Ilhéus that guard a secular image of Saint Jorge, valuable religious pieces of the Centuries XVI, XVII and XVIII and a panel from the history of Ilhéus.  Located in the Street Counselor Dantas, Center.

Church Our Lady of the Stair(Igreja Nossa Senhora da Escada) 
Situated in Olivença 18 km of the center of Ilhéus, was built by the Jesuit in the year of 1700, in colonial style.

Chapel of Santana 
Built in the century XVI, in 1537 by the Jesuit  in neoclassic style and stayed in the town of Rio of the Device, 20 km to the south of Ilhéus.  It is considerate the older 3a Church of the country.
